The Apple Store is taking preorders for the Apple Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Upgrade for $29 with free shipping, with delivery due on August 28. (Click on the Snow Leopard graphic to find it.) That's tied with several other merchants for the lowest total price we've seen, although Apple is the only one providing a shipping date. Sales tax is added where applicable. This upgrade is only for Mac OS X Leopard users with an Intel processor.
The Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Family Pack, which will upgrade up to five computers, is also available for $49 with free shipping. Or, get the updated Mac Box Set, with Snow Leopard, iLife '09, and iWork '09, for $169 with free shipping.

Update: If you don't mind receiving Snow Leopard after August 28, MacMall.com offers preorders for $24.99 plus $2.99 for shipping, a buck less than what Apple charges. Note that standard shipping can take up to five days, implying that the disc will arrive in the middle of next week
