Barnes & Noble unveiled its Barnes & Noble NOOK Tablet 7" 8GB Android Tablet for $199 with free shipping. Aside from a smaller 8GB internal memory (of which 5GB is reserved for B&N content) and 512MB RAM, features include a 7" 1024x600 touchscreen display, 1GHz TI OMAP4 dual-core processor, 802.11n wireless (with free access in Barnes & Noble stores), microSD card slot, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora, and more, eBook library viewing, nook Friends social networking, up to 11.5 hours of reading time on a single charge (up to 9 hours of video), custom Android 2.3-based OS, and more.
Along with unveiling the new model above, Barnes & Noble cut its price on the NOOK Color eBook Reader to $169, also with free shipping. That's the lowest total we've seen for a factory-sealed unit by $10, although we've seen refurbs for less.
