Garmin recalls 796,000 Garmin nuvi GPS devices

Garmin announced a voluntary recall on select Garmin nüvi GPS devices that may feature a battery that overheats when in contact with the circuit board. Approximately 796,000 units are affected and include select devices from the 200W, 250W, 260W, and 700-level lines. To see if your device contains the defective battery, click here and enter its serial number. Consumers with affected products are instructed to visit the nearest Garmin-authorized service center to receive a new battery and spacer.
