ING DIRECT account require multiple verification to close your account. The $50 credit did not go through when I opened mine. It was difficult to close the account. You have to do a lot of steps to get the $ 50 credit. Not worth the $50 statement credit.

dealnews just keeps repeating these advertisements for ING Direct again and again, each time pretending that they're announcing some kind of special deal rather than just business as usual. Is this website owned by Capital One 360 (ING Direct's parent company), by any chance? In any event, my confidence in this site's honesty is being shaken enough by this misbehavior that before long I'll stop bothering to come here at all. I can find advertisements pretty much anywhere I look on the internet, after all...
