From what I understand, you won't get the 1 year manufacturer's warranty unless you buy it from an authorized dealer (https://jawbone.com/retailers/us). Unfortunately the authorized dealers sell it for suggested retail price or close to it. Read amazon reviews on this product for tons of people disappointed their unit wasn't covered by the warranty.
