Samsung is recalling its newly released Samsung Galaxy Note7 Android Smartphone due to a defect found in the battery cell that may cause the phone to explode or catch fire. There have been 35 such instances reported worldwide. (The phone was released just two weeks ago, with around 2.5 million units sold worldwide.) Customers who previously purchased the phone can have it replaced with a new unit in the coming weeks. (An exact timeline for when the issue will be fully resolved is not known at this time.)
