Have to agree, other sites are offering slightly better deals than Steam, depending on what you want. I think it's been the trend for some years now, just like most things Steam sales are not that good anymore.
It used to be more interesting/exciting as the prices would flux from day to day and there was that hope one of your games might reach 60-80% off by vote. Not anymore.
The "Humble Monthly" bundle for this month offers a steam key for Dragon Dogma for $12 as its headliner, with an additional 5-6 games unlocked for free the first week of December.
This is frequently a very good deal, with the bonus games being of mixed quality but always totalling ~$120 of retail value.
