Tech manufacturers to pay $1.1B for alleged LCD price fixing
- Posted
Several technology manufacturers and their affiliates have agreed to pay $1.1 billion to settle allegations of LCD price fixing, CNN Money reports. According to prosecutors, the conspiracy spanned from 1999 to 2006 and affected prices on TVs, laptops, and computer monitors. $692 million will be set aside for partial refunds for affected consumers, while the rest will go to state treasuries for penalty, refund payments, and lawyer fees.
