Today, Apple announced its new Apple MacBook Pro 13" and 15" Laptops. The most notable feature is the new Touch Bar — a touchscreen OLED strip running above the keyboard that supports Touch ID and allows for customized buttons. Aside from that, it's thinner and lighter than previous models and features a Force Touch trackpad, improvements in GPU and SSD speeds, four Thunderbolt 3 ports (based on the USB Type-C standard), and up to 10 hours of battery life. The 13" model starts at $1,799, while the 15" model starts at $2,399.
In other news, the MacBook Air has been discontinued. It's been replaced by a new, basic 13" MacBook Pro ($1,499) with function keys instead of the Touch Bar and only two Thunderbolt 3 ports.
All three are available for purchase today; the MacBook Pro 13" ships immediately while the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar models will ship in two to three weeks.
