The iTunes App Store now offers Microsoft Office Mobile for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch
. (Google Play
has it for free also.) Microsoft previously only offered this companion Office app as part of an Office365 subscription which costs $9.99 per month. Now, home users with a free Microsoft account can create, edit, and share Word and Excel documents. (The ability to create and edit Powerpoint documents is not available to free users of the app although it's still possible to view and share these.) That's a savings of $10 per month on the previous cost of the app as part of the Office365 suite. Note that An Office365 subscription grants home users more features and is still required for business use.
: The iPad version requires an Office365 subscription to create and edit documents.
