Apple unveils new G5 PowerMacs (updated)

Today, Apple unveiled its new line of G5 PowerMacs. The Apple PowerMac G5/2GHz Dual desktop features a 16x Dual Layer SuperDrive, 160GB Serial ATA drive, and an ATI RADEON 9600 128MB video card. The new Apple PowerMac G5/2.3GHz Dual desktop steps up to a 250GB Serial ATA hard drive and PCI-X slots, while the top-end Apple PowerMac G5/2.7GHz Dual desktop adds an ATI Radeon 9650 256MB video card. (These systems cost $1,999, $2,499, and $2,999 respectively.) All three ship with Apple's Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and iLife '05. Update: ExperCom offers all three models, each with an additional 1GB RAM, for list price plus 1 cent shipping.
