Costco.com offers its members the Costco-refurbished Gateway FPD2185W 21" Widescreen LCD Monitor for $279.99. (Non-members pay $16.50 more.) That's $50 less than our November mention and $170 less than a new, factory-sealed unit at Gateway.com. Shipping costs $22.78, and sales tax is added where applicable. Unlike most other 21" LCD displays, the FPD2185W also functions as an HD-ready LCD television, with component, S-Video, and RCA video inputs, as well as DVI and VGA inputs. (It has no tuner, so it's not a "true" TV.) Other features include an auto-sensing pivot mode, picture-in-picture, Faroudja DCDi Video Smoothing, 1680x1050 16:10 resolution, integrated 4-port USB 2.0 hub, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 8ms response time.
