Star Wars fans everywhere are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the re-make of the original movie in 3D, or are they? While the prospect of seeing Princess Leia's famous hologram scene pop in three dimensions is exciting, there are many purists who would never want such a classic disturbed. The movie, rumored to be scheduled for release in 2012, is currently under hush-hush development, with only tiny details leaking out every once in a while. LucasFilm won't even say officially who is working on the film.

So to find out what's going on with the project, we turned to 3D expert Chris Chinnock, CEO of Insight Media, who has been filling us in on the future of 3D. Watch below to find out how much it's likely to cost to re-do Star Wars in 3D, if they can really make a Princess Leia hologram (you can also read about the University of Arizon's recent advances here) and if you're likely to enjoy the results.

Chinnock talked to us about all the latest issues about 3D, so also see what he has to say about the future of 3D without glasses and would you want to watch the Super Bowl in 3D?
