While iPads and all things Apple have been getting a lot of attention lately with the passing of Steve Jobs, we at dealnews recognize that Android users are every bit as tech savvy, and love a great deal just as much as the next digital maven.

So in the spirit of equal time for equally cool technology, we've rounded up five bargains that put the spotlight on the Android Tablet. And just in case you haven't made up your mind between an iPad and an Android, maybe one of these deals will tip the scales in favor of one (or the other).

  1. Skytex Primer Pocket 4GB 4" Android Tablet
    Price: $65 with $5 s&h
    Lowest By: $13
    Deal Expires: October 21
    Groupon Expires: November 22

Is It Worth It?: Groupon's offer of the Skytex Primer Pocket 4.3" 4GB Android Tablet — which features Android 2.2 — for $65 has been popular; close to 6,000 were snagged as of noon yesterday. If you're not ready to commit to the cost of a tablet, or you just want something less bulky and more portable, the Skytex is a low-cost option. Remember to buy your Groupon voucher by October 21 and redeem by November 22.

  2. Refurbished Acer Iconia 16GB 10" Android Tablet
Price: $289.99 via coupon code "JRGOOG" with free shipping
    Lowest By: $83

Is It Worth It?: This unit from J&R comes with a 90-day warranty, and it's hard to argue with a list of features that includes a 1GHz dual-core processor, Android 3.0, 802.11n wireless, 10" 1280x800 touchscreen, 1GB RAM, 16GB flash storage, and cameras that face both front and rear. Acer gear is more so reputable and workmanlike than sleek or flashy.

  3. Velocity Micro Cruz T103 4GB 7" Android Tablet
    Price: $99.99 with free shipping
    Lowest By: $4

Is It Worth It?: Offered by WorldWide Distributors via Amazon, this Velocity tablet offers maximum portability at an appealing price point; it features a 7" 800x480 touchscreen, 802.11n wireless, Google Android 2.0 OS, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, plus an SD card slot with 8GB card and USB connectivity. Customers praise this unit for its long battery life and small size, but dislike the lack of a camera or GPS function. Be sure to read through customer reviews to determine if this tablet is right for you.

  4. ICAN! 16GB 10" Android Tablet
    Price: $171 with free shipping
    Lowest By: $296

Is It Worth It?: The price on this baby keeps falling and falling; when we first posted it more than five days ago, it was $186.82. The 10" ICAN! features an Intel 1GHz processor, 10" widescreen LCD, 802.11g wireless, 16GB internal memory (expandable via two microSD card slots), a 1.3-megapixel webcam, and Google Android 2.1. Despite the appealing features, we find the 13 1-star reviews on Amazon troubling — with consumers complaining of clunky software and lack of touchscreen sensitivity, for starters. That said, there are enough 5-star reviews (4 out of 24) that might justify taking a chance on this product. Satisfied users praise the ICAN! for its ease of use as an eBook reader.

  5. Infiniti T70 2GB 7" Android Tablet
    Price: $89.99 with free shipping
    Lowest by: $30

Is It Worth It?: The Infiniti T70 runs Android 2.3 and offers Google suite applications for browsing, reading, shopping, and more. This tablet features a 720MHz ARM 11 processor, 7" 800x480 touchscreen, and internal 2GB flash memory. The lack of a camera will disappoint some users, but if you have that feature on your smartphone already, then no worries. This tablet is a simple supplement to your tech arsenal, especially for those who want to sync calendars, email, and contacts via Gmail.

Hey, you left off the Nook Color! At $150 refurbished, it's the best Android tablet deal running! It's got Android 2.2 and a capacitative touchscreen. Besides reading books, you can also install select Android apps. Or, you can root it and then it becomes a regular, high end Android tablet. The only thing it lacks is a camera.
