As humans, we glean an inordinate amount of amusement from dressing our animal companions in costumes ranging from the cute to the bizarre. We'll take any occasion — the arrival of spring, the holiday season, and of course Halloween. Thanksgiving is no exception. These are our 11 favorite pets that have gone all-out and gotten dressed up and celebrate not being actual turkeys.

Whilst it's hilarious to watch Fido or Betsy walk around the living room dressed like a pilgrim, let's remember that Fido likes his meat cooked thoroughly. Some human foods (especially raw meat, dough, and even cooked stuffing) can cause severe, even life-threatening pain for animals.

We'll never get tired of seeing animals look embarrassed in whatever ridiculous costume we put them in. Be it pilgrim, American Indian, turkey, or even pumpkin pie, you too can remind your pet he or she should be glad about not being a turkey, even if they're gonna get dressed like one!
