This Week's Rumor Roundup: Guitar Hero, Metal Gear, Canon
No Apple Rumors? What's THAT about?
Fallout MMORPG? Fifty years ago, imagining what a post-apocalyptic world would be like was the thing of nightmares. Now it's entertainment. How far we've come!
"The Touch" from Transformers coming to Guitar Hero? Well, it's happened. People from my generation are finally getting into positions of power that allow them to make these kinds of decisions. It's awesome, cuz I get "The Touch" ... but it's sad because the last big decision I've made was "Paper or Plastic?".
E3 will announce Metal Gear Solid 5? It takes them less time to crank out a new game then it does for a player to sit through all of the cut scenes of the last release. How do they do that?
Sony Ericsson to split? Fifty percent of all cellphone marriages end in divorce. Sony Ericsson is just another statistic.
Canon Rebel EOS 500D coming next week? You know what market hasn't been explored enough by camera makers, let alone Canon? The DSLR market! Even though they already have two or three hundred DSLRs on the market already, this one is better because it has an extra zero in its name... and a D ... and a 5 ... or another megapixel ... or something.
Jeff Somogyi is dealnews' Media Editor. He often wonders if camera companies feel guilty about releasing an update to a previously-lauded, flagship camera ... I mean, it's an admission that they made a less-than-perfect device the first time around, right?
