Up to 4 million people visit dealnews every month to stay up-to-date on the latest deals. dealnews is primarily read by men, ages 18-35, who are passionate about gadgets and technology. Most dealnews readers make an online purchase every three days or less.
Title: dealnews Associate Editor
dealnews is seeking a full-time Associate Editor to produce and edit online content for dealnews.com. This position will be based out of our New York City office, located in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Additional travel (e.g., to industry events) will be required.
Responsibilities
- Editing and authoring content for dealnews.com and dealmac.com
- Quickly identifying and explaining a product's value proposition
- Interacting with online stores and their liaisons
- Supporting ongoing content strategy, including collaborating with other dealnews staff
Qualifications
- Expertise in all manner of consumer technology products, especially computers and electronics
- Strong knowledge of trends, like entertainment and men's fashion
- Expertise shopping online
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field
- At least three (3) years of experience writing and editing for technology or lifestyle publication, preferably online
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Technical requirements
- Extremely strong computer skills
- Experience using a web or print publishing platform

dealnews is seeking a full-time Staffwriter to produce online content for dealnews.com. The ideal candidate would live in New York City or Huntsville, AL. However, applicants from outside these areas that are interested in telecommuting are encouraged to apply. (Occasional travel to our NYC and/or Huntsville offices will be required.)
