Title: Copy Editor
The dealnews Copy Editor will be responsible for managing the front page of dealnews.com. The goal of this position is to maximize the quality of our service by optimizing the mix of products, moving or removing expired or underperforming content, and working with our editorial and R&D teams.
Responsibilities
- Check for errors and expired information
- Optimize front page
- Assist in content management
- Moderate reader comments
- Test our website, especially new features (SQA)
Skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- "Merchandising": Understanding the value of a product based on its features and price
- Ability to examine detail-level data to understand larger trends

Responsibilities
- Ongoing system and software maintenance of equipment in our San Francisco and Atlanta data centers
- Routine maintenance including software backups, user creation and maintenance, software upgrades and system upkeep
Qualifications
- At least three (3) years of experience administering Linux servers
- Gentoo Linux experience a definite plus
- Experience with basic system administration scripting (bash, csh, php or perl)
- Experience with configuration and maintenance of common Linux system facilities including cron, syslog, init scripts, LDAP and network backup systems
