How Much Is Peacock This April?

There are a couple of different Peacock TV plans available for streaming, which can be paid monthly or annually — whatever suits your budget. However, annual subscriptions do offer some cost savings compared to paying monthly.

Peacock Free Trial

Currently there is no general Peacock free trial period from the service itself, most likely as a carryover because of the Olympic Games coverage. There's no indication that the previous 7-day free trial period will come back, but it could be a possibility, especially around the holiday season since Black Friday streaming promotions tend to be popular.

This entry-level plan is no longer available for new customers; the Peacock free program ended in early 2023.

Peacock Premium: $7.99 a Month

The Peacock Premium plan is ad-supported, and you get daily news, sports, kids content, and Telemundo programming. The ads are estimated to be around five minutes per hour of viewing, but the low monthly cost is a small price to pay for access to hundreds of TV shows and movies.

To cut way back on commercials, you can pay almost double to get the top-tier subscription called Premium Plus. It will cost $13.99 per month or $139.99 annually, but you'll get 24/7 live TV on your local NBC channel, and also be able to download and watch select titles when not online.

Note there's a disclaimer on Peacock's site that states due to streaming rights, some programming will still contain a small amount of ads. Unfortunately, it seems there's no way around avoiding them completely with this streaming service.

In general, you do have to pay for Peacock. But there are ways to get a free subscription of Peacock, thanks to partnerships with other companies. Below are some of the ways you may be able to snag a deal on a free Peacock subscription with other memberships.

Xfinity Internet

If you have Xfinity internet service, you may be eligible for a free Peacock Premium subscription, by signing up for the Now TV streaming service. Now TV is yet another streaming platform that costs about $20 a month as an add-on, and has channels like AMC and Discovery. It also includes a subscription to Peacock Premium for no additional cost — as long as you consider you're paying for the other channels and not Peacock itself. The better way to think of this is simply that you're getting various streaming services at notably reduced prices, but this option isn't truly free.

That said, Xfinity subscribers of the Gigabit or Gigabit Plus plans can enjoy Peacock Premium for two years at no additional cost. Historically, Platinum or Diamond Xfinity membership users could redeem rewards for free access to Peacock Premium. It should be noted that these levels are based on how long you've been a Xfinity customer — Platinum members are those who have had the service for seven years to 14 years, while Diamond members have had it for more than 14 years.

Military Discount: Military members can verify their status with SheerID in order to receive Peacock Premium for just $3.99 per month for 12 months. Note that you must reside in the United States to get the Peacock military discount, and you'll have to reverify your status each year. If you don't renew your discount, you'll automatically be charged the regular rate at time of renewal.

Educator Discount: Teachers, school staff, and faculty members at K-12 schools (public or private) or universities may be eligible for a 12-month discounted membership to Peacock Premium.
