Cord cutters are all too aware that eliminating cable can mean also cutting out the ability to watch both local and national news channels. But there are ways around having to opt for a traditional cable package — namely in the form of great streaming bundle deals — and we're here to show you how to get channels like Fox News for free without having to go back to cable.

Where to Watch Fox News in 2025

New customers can sign up for a DirecTV streaming package (Choice or higher), and you'll get $10 off per month over 24 months. Choice includes speciality sports like MLB Network and NBA TV, as well as regional sports networks. Ultimate also includes CBS Sports Network, Discovery Family, NHL Network, Starz Encore, and more. The Premier package adds Max, Paramount+ with Showtime, Starz, and Cinemax. The prices, all at $10 off per month:

  • Choice for $79.99/mo.
  • Ultimate for $109.99/mo.
  • Premier for $154.99/mo.

Your plan will auto-renew at the then-regular price after the 24 months are up.

Can You Watch Fox News Live for Free?

There are ways to watch Fox News for free if you don't want to bother with a live streaming service. Try using the website or downloading the Fox News app to see if you can get all the info you want that way. If you're finding that you're missing out on news, that may be when you want to revisit the options laid out in this piece.

How to Watch Fox News Without Cable

Fox News is one of the networks that doesn't appear to simulcast its programming through any on-demand streaming platform. That means that if you want to watch Fox News without going the old-school cable route, you're going to need to opt for a live TV streaming service that carries the channel.

Stream Fox News on DirecTV Stream

DirecTV Stream has four different plans to suit any budget, and every single one of those includes Fox News. That means whether you opt for the Entertainment package for $74.99 per month or spring for the highest-tier Premier package for $164.99 per month, you'll be able to watch Fox News.

If Fox News isn't the only thing you're interested in, the Entertainment package also includes more than 90 channels overall, more than 60,000 movies and shows, and local channels where available.

Stream Fox News on Sling TV Blue

If the DirecTV Stream packages feel a bit too much like going back to cable, the good news is there are other options that are more affordable and less overwhelming. For instance, the Sling TV Blue plan is just $46 per month, though you may be able to get your first month for half off. It comes with 15 exclusive News and Entertainment channels — including Fox News, of course — plus another 28 channels shared on every Sling TV plan.

Stream Fox News on Fubo

Fubo is another live TV streaming option that starts at $84.99 per month for their standard plans, though you may be able to get a deal on your first month depending on if you've ever given the service a try before. You can choose from the Essential, Pro, or Elite plans, with the Essential and Pro being the most affordable. If you want to give it a try, here's what else the Pro plan includes:

  • 216 channels
  • Unlimited DVR — keep recordings for up to 9 months
  • Family Share to watch on three screens at once
  • Unlimited Screens to watch on 10 screens at home
If you decide to upgrade (at a higher cost of course) you'll still get Fox News, but you'll also receive other perks like 4K, access to NFL RedZone, international sports, and premium services like MGM+. Of course the higher tiers also include more channels than the Pro, so you'll have even more options for entertainment.

Stream Fox News on Hulu + Live TV

Hulu + Live TV is another live streaming option that can serve as a cable replacement. It's also one of the options that comes at a higher price tag, too, though, clocking in at $82.99 per month for the ad-supported version and $95.99 per month for the version with limited ads. That said, either one will get you Fox News viewing along with a host of other entertainment options, including Disney Plus and ESPN Plus in addition to Hulu's live TV lineup.

Note that while the more expensive tier of Hulu + Live TV will claim to be ad-free, you'll only get ad-free versions of Hulu and Disney Plus — ESPN Plus will still have ads.

What Else to Know About Streaming the News

How Can You Watch Live News for Free?

If none of the options above are sounding good to you (or your wallet), there are some other ways to watch live news for free. Just know that this means you won't be able to see certain channels (like Fox News), but you'll still be able to at least get the actual news.

Free Streaming News Channels

While Fox News doesn't simulcast its programming on any on-demand service, there are still ways to see at least some of their programming. If you want to skip the streaming sign-up, you may be able to stream some Fox programming on their website or by downloading their app for free.

If you're looking for options beyond Fox News, you can also find live news feeds for the following:

  • ABC News
  • Al Jazeera
  • Bloomberg
  • CBS News
  • Cheddar News
  • CNN
  • Haystack News
  • NBC News
  • NewsON
  • Newsy
  • Roku Channel
  • Sling Freestream
  • USA Today
If your go-to news source isn't listed above, it might be because it requires a subscription. For instance, if you're wanting to watch something like CNN or CNBC, you may be able to get some news for free, but you'll have to have a subscription of some kind to access these kinds of channels.
