Lowe's now knocks 40% off a selection of Halloween decorations, with prices starting at $2.38. (Prices are as marked.) Opt for free in-store pickup; shipping won't guarantee delivery by Halloween. That's double the discount we saw from Lowe's just four days ago, and the best deal we've seen for these items from this merchant. Sales tax is added where applicable. Offer ends October 30.

The days have gotten shorter, the pumpkins are carved, and everyone's Halloween décor is up. With Halloween just days away is your costume ready? Lowe's is closing 20 retail stores. Ten of these stores closed yesterday, while the other half will shut down in about a month. In addition, planned openings of more Lowe's locations have been reduced by about 50%. The company cites individual store performance and, according to BusinessWeek, "fragile consumer mindset" as reasons for the closures. Google News has more.
