Apple unveiled its new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models
. With a 2-year contract, the base iPhone 6s 16GB will cost $199
, while the iPhone 6s Plus 16GB will cost $299
. (64GB and 128GB models add $100 and $200, respectively, to the cost of the base models.) They're scheduled to be released on September 25; preorders begin September 12.
A notable update is a new 12-megapixel iSight camera with 4K video recording. Other features include Ion-X glass (the same as the Apple Watch Sport models), an A9 chipset, 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera with Retina Flash, additional multi-touch features (including 3D Touch), Taptic Engine (for haptic feedback), 2nd-generation Touch ID, and rose gold option (in addition to the now standard space grey, silver, and gold).
