The Best Offers From the Walmart Black Friday Ad

We've already picked our top five favorites from Walmart's Black Friday ad, but with so many pages, it definitely needed a closer look. Here, we've listed more of the best deals we could find, plus some of the ones you should really avoid when you shop on Black Friday.

Check out the analysis below, then be sure to visit our Black Friday hub for all the latest ads as they leak.

Best Deals

  • Vizio 60" 1080p HDTV for $398
We predicted that we'd see doorbuster deals that knocked the price of sets this size to $400. Not only did Walmart hit that, but this deal beats it by $2. The next lowest price we've seen for such a TV is $450, but that was for a refurbished model. As it currently stands, this would be the cheapest 60" 1080p TV we've ever seen from a major brand.

  • Philips 55" 2160p Smart 4K UHD LED TV for $298
This is another TV that exceeds our expectations. At this price point, it beats our predictions for the doorbuster price ($315) as well as the average prices for both off-brand ($380) and name-brand ($559) 55" 4K sets. The lowest price we've previously seen for a similar Philips TV was $400.

  • Playstation 4 Slim Uncharted 4 500GB Console Bundle with $30 Gift Card for $249
This bundle not only beats our prediction by $50, it also includes a $30 gift card as well. Assuming you'll use the gift card, it drops the price of this console even more.

  • Razor Hovertrax 2.0 Hoverboard for $273
Many retailers seem to be giving hoverboards a second chance this holiday season. This is the third store we've seen advertising them, and it's also at the lowest price. Most other Black Friday ads have had these gadgets listed for around $299.

  • Element or Hisense 40" 1080p LED HDTV for $125
This is yet another TV that beats all our expectations in this category. It's $15 lower than our doorbuster prediction, and exceeds our off-brand predictions as well. The lowest prices we've seen for similar sets is $170 for an Element and $140 for a Hisense; however, both of those sets were refurbished.

  • Samsung 50" 2160p Smart 4K UHD LED TV for $398
We predicted name-brand sets of this size would on average be around $435, so this TV beats that by $37. The lowest price we've ever seen this specific model is $495, so it will also be an all-time low by almost $100.

  • DJI Phantom 3 Standard Drone for $369
Many retailers have this or similar drones listed in their Black Friday ads, but this is one of the best deals we've seen for this new model. We've seen this model drop to $369 before, but that was for a refurbished model.

  • Fitbit Flex 2 in Black or Lavender for $69
While there will certainly be cheaper fitness trackers, this model checks in at the lowest price we've seen. The previous lowest price was $80.

  • Arlo by Netgear HD Wireless Security Camera for $99
If you're interested in this model, then take note of this deal. The cheapest price we've ever seen is $123, so this would be a low by at least $24.

  • Polaroid Instant Digital Camera Bundle for $84
This is the first time we've seen a bundle for this camera drop below $100. We've seen a similar bundle that included a neoprene pouch and a 50-pack of photo paper go for $113 previously. This Black Friday bundle includes a case, 8GB microSD card, USB cord, and a 10-pack of Polaroid zinc paper.

  • GoPro Hero Session Bundle for $179
While Target has this bundle for the same price, it also comes with a $20 gift card as well, making it the better deal. That said, if you're unable to snag the Target offer, this bundle is still a solid buy since it's at the lowest price we've seen outright. It includes The Handler and a 16GB SD card.

  • RCA 7" 16GB Android Tablet for $28
We expected Android tablets to drop as low as $40, so this deal definitely exceeds our expectations. Additionally, the next lowest price we've seen for similar models is $35, making this the best price we've seen for a budget Android tablet.

  • Xbox One S 500GB Minecraft Console Bundle for $279
While we've seen this console for $30 less in other Black Friday ads, this particular one includes a bonus controller as well. And since most retailers are selling wireless Xbox One controllers for around $39, you'll save $10 with this bundle over those others.

Worst Deals

  • HP AMD A10 Quad 15.6" Laptop with 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD for $349
This bundle seems to have pretty much everything you need, including a sleeve, mouse, and 16GB flash drive. However, we saw similar bundles that included a sleeve and mouse go for as little as $269. While the bundle is convenient, shelling out essentially an extra $80 for a 16GB flash drive is too much.

  • Xbox 360 500GB Forza Horizon 2 Bundle for $129
Older consoles like this are definitely affordable, but we saw this exact bundle for less back in August. The lowest we've seen was $99, making this deal skippable.

  • Otterbox Defender Case for iPhone 7, 6, 5s, or SE for $25
We've seen the Defender case drop to as low as $7 for some models. Even if you have a newer iPhone, we've seen these cases regularly priced around $18 to $20, meaning you could still save a few bucks by skipping this offer.

Tips for Shopping at Walmart Black Friday Sales

Walmart is one retailer you can count on being open on Turkey Day, with doors opening at 6 pm. Once again, online deals are firing up even earlier. Last year many of the store's Black Friday sales were available online starting at 3 am ET on Thanksgiving. This year, they're starting even earlier, at 12:01 am ET.

Though Walmart has sales during the week leading up to Black Friday, the deals on Thanksgiving and Black Friday are typically the highlights. If any limited-availability items are on your must-have list, you'll want to line up in time for the store's opening.

That said, some deals fall under the 1-hour guarantee. Walmart's guarantee — which the company has offered for several years now — meant shoppers could line up for certain doorbuster sales within an hour of the store's opening and get the item, even if the store ran out of stock. That's about as low stress as in-store Black Friday shopping can get.
