Looking to save some extra cash on your next purchase? You can, starting today, if you're living in one of the 16 states mentioned below. For a few days this summer, each state will temporarily suspend sales tax on dozens of items ranging from laptops to shoes. (Kudos to Vermont and Louisiana, which are removing sales tax on almost everything.) Sadly, although these states are participating, some cash-strapped states canceled the holiday in an attempt to generate much-needed tax revenue. For those that qualify, now is the perfect time to make your purchases and enjoy an extra discount care of Uncle Sam.
