Black Friday deals

With just a few days left until Black Friday, now is the time to solidify your game plan. Where will you buy that new HDTV? Which store has the lowest prices on video games? Should you bite on a large appliance on sale? In order to help you make decisions like these, we've put together a list of the best of the best Black Friday deals from every category. Cue up the Europe, because this is the final Black Friday ad roundup!

The Best Black Friday TV Ads

If you're on the hunt for a new television this Black Friday, then these deals should be at the top of your list of potential purchases. However, if none of these specs match your specific needs, be sure to check out our complete roundup of the best Black Friday TV ads.

  • Seiki 32" 720p LED LCD HDTV for $98 at Amazon
Available for $98 during select hours this week, this Seiki TV is the second-cheapest 32" 720p LCD HDTV we've ever seen. It's also within a buck of last Black Friday's all-time low. Alternatively, Walmart will offer the Funai 32" 720p LED LCD HDTV for $98 in stores.

  • Insignia 39" 1080p LED LCD HDTV for $170 at Best Buy
While it's not quite 42", this 39" Insignia could still be the cheapest HDTV we've ever seen in the 39" to 42" class. This Thanksgiving Day deal will start at 6 pm, catering to both online and in-store shoppers.

  • Element 50" 1080p LED LCD HDTV for $229 at Target
These days, 50" is the new 42" and this Element 50" HDTV is poised to break all records and become the cheapest 50" HDTV we've ever seen. It even beats our previous Editors' Choice TV for this size by $150.

  • Sharp 50" 1080p LED LCD HDTV for $400 at Best Buy
At $400, this is the cheapest 50" Sharp LED LCD HDTV we've seen by $100. So if you want a name-brand 50" set, this is your deal.

  • Samsung 51" 720p Plasma HDTV for $427 at Walmart
We typically try to steer clear of 720p TVs these days, but this $427 51" plasma is too irresistible to ignore. It's $23 under our August mention of this model and the lowest price we've ever seen for any new Samsung 51" plasma HDTV.

  • Sony 55" 2160p 4K Ultra LED HDTV for $3,000 at H.H. Gregg
Early adopters, listen up. Starting at 8 pm on Thanksgiving Day, H.H. Gregg will offer the Sony XBR55X900A 55" 4K HDTV for $3,000. That's $500 under Sony's direct price and even beats Amazon's price for this TV by $498. Sure, you could probably buy three 1080p 55" HDTVs and still have money left over, but if it's bragging rights you're after, here's your chance.

  • Seiki 55" 120Hz 1080p LED LCD HDTV for $400 at H.H. Gregg
This 55" TV is $99 cheaper than our Black Friday prediction for this category. Even better, it beats out the previous all-time low price for this size class by $48. It's also proof that Seiki not only wants to be king of the ultra-cheap 4K TV, but king of the ultra-cheap 1080p 55" TV.

  • Vizio 70" 120Hz 1080p Smart LED LCD HDTV for $998 at Walmart
A 70" Vizio HDTV for under a grand is unheard of; the cheapest we've seen had been $1,371 back in February. So it's no surprise this is a limited quantity deal. Nevertheless, for big-screen fans who have the space for such a TV, this is your Black Friday doorbuster TV.

The Best Black Friday Laptop Ads

Whether you're looking for a souped up system or a barebones configuration for cheap, the best Black Friday laptop ads have something for everyone.

  • HP Pavilion Celeron 1.1GHz 14" Chromebook for $179.99 at Staples
Weighing in at just under 4lbs., this HP 14" Chromebook is the ideal ultraportable for your basic computing needs. And when Staples drops it to $180, this'll be the cheapest new 14" Chromebook we've ever seen, and tied as the cheapest new Chromebook we've seen in any size.

  • HP Pavilion TouchSmart Celeron 1.5GHz 14" Touchscreen Laptop for $278 at Walmart
If you're itching to get a touchscreen laptop, but Best Buy's all-time low on a 12" ultraportable doesn't interest you, then check out this slightly better-equipped HP Pavilion TouchSmart. The 14-B109WM has both a bigger screen and a bigger hard drive than Best Buy's offering, and it only costs $28 more. Plus, it's one of Walmart's guaranteed doorbusters; you're sure to bag the cheapest 14" touchscreen laptop we've ever seen, even if your local store runs out.

  • HP Split 2-in-1 Haswell 1.3GHz 13" Touchscreen Convertible Laptop for $499.99 at Best Buy
This sleek laptop/tablet combo blows our ultraportable laptop prediction out of the water; we thought we'd see a 12" laptop with an Ivy Bridge chip for $519. Instead, the HP Split 13-m110dx boasts a 13.3" touchscreen and a fourth-gen Haswell dual-core CPU, and Best Buy is dropping it to just $500. It'll be the best price we've seen for any new 13" convertible tablet by at least $132.

  • HP AMD E-300 1.3GHz 16" LED-Backlit Laptop for $178 at Walmart
If you thought we were nuts predicting a general-use 15" dual-core laptop for $170 on Black Friday, weep for our sanity no more. This HP 15.6" laptop sports a dual-core AMD E-300 CPU and a 500GB hard drive, and it's just a few bucks over our prediction. When Walmart marks this system down to the guilt-free impulse buy price of $178, it'll be tied as the cheapest new 16" laptop with a dual-core processor that we've ever seen.

  • Dell Inspiron 15 Haswell 1.6GHz 16" LED-Backlit Laptop for $499.99 at Dell Home
If you're dying to get your hands on a config with one of those shiny new Haswell CPUs, this Dell Inspiron 15 is a great choice. In addition to the Core i5 Haswell chip, this workhorse laptop has 6GB of RAM and a 750GB hard drive. Best of all, $500 is the lowest price we've ever seen for a Haswell-equipped Inspiron 15.

  • Toshiba Ivy Bridge 2.4GHz 16" LED-Backlit Laptop for $649.99 at Staples
Although it's only got an Ivy Bridge CPU and will require a mail-in rebate to get the $650 price, this Toshiba S55-A5295 packs an awful lot of power into its 15.6" build. This is $145 under the best current price for this configuration and the second-best price we've ever seen for any 16" laptop with 12GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. (If you're looking for this configuration with a Haswell, BJ's Wholesale Club will have one for $100 more.)

  • Alienware 14 Haswell 2.5GHz 14" LED-Backlit Laptop for $999 at Dell Home
Don't be fooled by the Alienware 14's compact housing; this little laptop is jam-packed with features any PC gamer would drool over, like a Haswell CPU, 8GB of RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1GB graphics. Better yet, Dell will drop this system to just under $1,000, making it the cheapest Alienware 14 config we've ever seen.

The Best Black Friday Tablet Ads

Bucking expectations, Black Friday tablet ads have been very impressive. It's now clear that this is going to be a great year to pick up a previous-generation Kindle Fire HD, iPad, Windows tablet, or a tablet for kids.

  • Apple iPad Air 16GB WiFi Tablet with $100 Target Gift Card for $479 at Target
We expected the iPad Air's price to drop by 12% during this holiday season. But if you count the $100 gift card, then Target's Black Friday price is 24% off Apple's list price. Considering that the best price we've seen for this model is $449, this promotion a fantastic deal on the current-gen iPad.

  • Apple iPad mini 16GB WiFi Tablet with a $100 Walmart Gift Card for $299 at Walmart
While $299 is list price for this first-generation iPad mini, the hefty $100 Walmart gift card makes this promo exceptional. The lowest price we've previously seen for this tablet is $249, so if you factor in the gift card, this deal offers the best value we've ever seen on the iDevice. Even better? This is one of Walmart's guaranteed doorbusters; customers who arrive between 6 pm and 7 pm on Thanksgiving will secure this price, even if local inventory runs out.

  • Kindle Fire HDX 7" 16GB Tablet with $25 Staples Gift Card for $229 at Staples
Assuming you'll use the gift card, this offer for the current-generation Kindle HDX 7" 16GB tablet is an excellent buy. (Amazon briefly offered it for $195 earlier this month, but we've seen no other discounts on this tablet.) Not interested in a Staples gift card? Get a $25 Visa gift card instead when you buy the 7" HDX from Office Depot for just a buck more.

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1" 16GB Tablet with $50 Fry's Gift Card for $299 at Fry's Electronics
Assuming you'll use the hefty $50 gift card, Fry's will have the best price we've ever seen for this tablet new by at least $40. (It also beats the best current price for this model by $50.) Can't get to a Fry's retail store to pick one up? Toys "R" Us will have this tablet bundled with a $20 gift card for $300.

  • Kindle Fire HD 8.9" Tablet with $50 off Coupon for $189 at Meijer
Shoppers who live near a Meijer retail store should rejoice at their good fortune: this Kindle Fire HD offer blows the $180 Kindle Fire HD 8.9" Tablet with $20 Toys "R" Us gift card out of the water. For just under $190, you get the previous-generation Kindle Fire HD 8.9" tablet and a coupon for $50 off your next Meijer purchase between December 1 and December 24. (If you can't get to a Meijer, no worries; the Toys "R" Us deal is still very good.) Assuming you'll use the $50 coupon, this Black Friday price is $40 under our August mention of a refurb, making it the lowest price we've ever seen for this tablet. (Amazon currently charges $229.)

  • Kindle Fire HD 7" 16GB Tablet for $99.99 at Best Buy
2013 is shaping up to be a great year to buy a previous-generation Kindle Fire HD. Best Buy's doorbuster price for the 7" tablet is especially tempting because it's a sale on the 16GB model, not the 8GB. At $100, it's tied as the best price we've ever seen for this tablet in either capacity; our previous mention at this price point was for a 16GB refurb. (A new 16GB model currently goes for $169 on Amazon.)

  • Microsoft Surface 10.6" 32GB Windows RT Tablet for $199.99 at Best Buy
We predicted that Microsoft tablets would see the biggest discounts this season, but even our crystal ball didn't show the Surface RT tablet's price dropping this low. Best Buy's $200 Black Friday price point shatters our predicted price of $314, and it's only a buck over the lowest price we've ever seen for a refurbished unit.

  • Nabi 2 Kids' 7" 8GB Android Tablet for $99 at Walmart
This kid-friendly tablet is more than a year old at this point, so we can't attest to its "coolness." However, we can say this: Walmart will be offering it for the lowest price we've seen by $30.

The Best Black Friday Electronics Ads

This is always a great time to score a deal on electronics, which is especially nice right before the holidays. Check out the best Black Friday electronics ads for heavily-discounted smartphones and more.

  • Apple iPhone 5C for AT&T or Verizon with a $75 Walmart Gift Card for $45 at Walmart
Any deal where you can score an iPhone 5C and walk away with a $30 profit is a good deal to us. Assuming you use the gift card in this offer, not only is your iPhone on Walmart's tab, but you'll also get a $75 gift card to boot. Subtract the $45 you spent and you've just made $30.

  • Samsung Galaxy S4 for AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon for free at Best Buy
There are hundreds of Android smartphones on the market, but the undisputed king remains the Galaxy S4. Best Buy is offering this phone for free (with a 2-year contract renewal) starting Thanksgiving Day at 6 pm. That's $100 under the best deal we've seen and a bargain you simply cannot beat. Need a little more time to digest your turkey? Staples is offering the S4 for AT&T and Verizon customers for a penny starting at 8 pm also on Thanksgiving Day.

  • Canon PowerShot SX160 16-Megapixel Digital Camera for $79 at Walmart
Once a hot item during the holidays, digital cameras have now become an after-thought. But with their ultra-cheap prices, they're also the perfect gift for budding photographers who aren't quite ready for an SLR upgrade. Case in point: this 16MP PowerShot SX160 is a full $46 under our best mention and a great gift for that budding photographer. Plus, this has been a popular model with our own readers.

  • 5th Generation Apple iPod touch 16GB MP3 Player with $50 Target Gift Card for $229 at Target
Although $229 is list price for this current-gen iPod touch, it's the bundled $50 gift card that makes this deal worth it. Assuming you use the card, you're getting the new iPod touch for a mere $179. If you don't mind paying an extra buck (and braving your way through a store-full of crazed moms and dads), Toys "R" Us is offering the same deal (with a $50 Toys "R" Us gift card) for $230.

  • Beats by Dr. Dre Solo HD On-Ear Headphones for $110 at Rakuten Shopping
Score one for the online shoppers! If you want to get the lowest price on the super-popular Beats by Dr. Dre Solo HD headphones, then click over to Rakuten Shopping on Black Friday. The site will have these headphones for $110, which is the best price we've seen for a new pair by $5. Furthermore, Rakuten's price will trump Walmart's and Target's Black Friday prices for this set of designer cans.

The Best Black Friday Toys & Gaming Ads

Even though we're advocating waiting until the second week in December to buy toys, we combed through the latest leaked Black Friday toy ads and saw several fun offers that were of note.

  • Sesame Street Big Hugs Elmo for $44 at Walmart
The holidays just don't feel the same without a highly sought-after Elmo, but at only $4 cheaper than what you could spend online right now, we wouldn't make a special trip to Walmart for it. Except that this lil' guy was included on the Toys "R" Us Fabulous 15, so it might be one of those "it" toys that'll be hard to find the closer we get to Christmas.

  • Barbie Fashionista Doll for $5 at Kmart
Another holiday staple is Barbie, which seems to be a gift almost as old as the holiday itself (yet she doesn't look a day over 21. How does she do it?!) Of all the Barbies on offer during Black Friday, this one sticks out because it's priced $2 less than what Kohl's and Meijer will purportedly charge on Black Friday, and $9 under the current lowest online price for any Fashionista Barbie doll.

  • 50% off select Fisher-Price & Playskool Toys at Kohl's
Depending on the selection (which, at press time had not yet been revealed), this offer will be the largest percent-off sale on these items since last Black Friday, when Bealls cut 60% off. Since Kohl's is known for "bringing it" when it comes to Black Friday toy deals, it's probably going to be quite a large selection and well worth keeping an eye on. The usual caveat applies: several of these toys are probably going to be cheaper in the lead-up to Christmas ... but which ones?! We won't know until it's over.

  • Playstation 3 250GB Console Bundle: Batman, Last of Us, and $20 off Coupon for $200 at Meijer
This gaming deal just barely manages to squeak ahead of the pack and become a noteworthy deal, thanks to the $20 off a future purchase add-on. (It seems like every merchant is offering this same bundle for the same $200, but without the coupon.) If you're a frequent Meijer customer, then this deal is a fine option. If you're not, it's still worth remembering, if only to give you a yardstick by which to measure any as yet unreleased Black Friday deals for this console.

  • Xbox 360 4GB Kinect Holiday Value Bundle with Halo 3 for $199.99 at Toys "R" Us
Score one for us! Not only was our Black Friday prediction for this system dead on, but this promo also includes a copy of Halo 3. Purchasing these items separately elsewhere would cost you about $60 more than Toys "R" Us' leaked Black Friday price. (If you don't want the Kinect sensor or the game, Walmart is offering the Xbox 360 4GB Console for $99 — a shockingly low price — on Thursday between 6 pm and 7 pm.)

  • Skylanders SWAP Force Starter Pack (Select Systems) for $37.49 at Toys "R" Us
Parents looking to be holiday heroes may want to forgo that second helping of turkey to grab this game. Not only is this deal a full $33 under what any merchant is currently charging, but it's a doorbusting Black Friday price too! Outside of Walmart (which will charge just $2 more), most merchants are charging $50 on Black Friday! Another thing to keep in mind: this Skylanders pack is another of the Toys "R" Us Fabulous 15 toys, and will be in-demand this season.

  • Buy 1 Skylanders SWAP Force Single Character Pack, Get 70% off the 2nd at Toys "R" Us
Part of the fun (profitability) of the Skylanders game franchise is that it's expandable through standalone character packs. The best Black Friday deal we could find for SWAP Force individual character packs is this a buy one, get one 70% off deal at Toys "R" Us. While we haven't listed individual SWAP Force characters before, most merchants charge at least $10 each for these figures. That's a savings of $7 or more on every other figure you buy.

The Best Black Friday Clothing Ads

Black Friday clothing sales have been steadily growing in popularity in recent years, with even luxury boutiques offering significant discounts during the shopping holiday. We've rounded up several stand-out clothing, shoes, and accessories deals that we've come across in our perusal of the ads, but there are still more Black Friday clothing ads of note, if none of these brands appeal to you.

  • 50% off Storewide at Old Navy
As we mentioned in our Black Friday predictions, many clothing merchants will offer their best sitewide discounts during the shopping holiday. One such store is Old Navy; the retailer will take a flat 50% off everything. That's not just the best storewide sale we've seen all year, it actually beats Old Navy's Black Friday sale from last year, which only took up to 50% off.

  • Wrangler Men's Regular or Relaxed Fit Jeans for $9.50 each at Walmart
To put this awesome price into perspective, it's at least $6 under what Walmart currently charges and the best price we've ever seen for any pair of Wrangler jeans.

  • Men's Graphic T-Shirts for $3.99 at JCPenney
At just $4 each, you can afford to dramatically expand your Casual Friday wardrobe with a few graphic tees. These shirts will be marked down to the cheapest price we've seen in over a year, so there's no reason not to stock up.

  • Buy 1 Pair of Men's, Women's, or Kids' Shoes, Get the 2nd Pair Free at Kmart
Sure, we've seen BOGO footwear sales from Kmart as recently as September, but this sale goes the extra mile: previous offers only included select athletic shoes, whereas this offer extends to all shoes. It'll be the most inclusive BOGO shoe sale we've seen so far this year.

  • 60% off Handbags at Sears
If you're shopping for your lady (or if you're among the 25% of ladies shopping for themselves on Black Friday), you can't go wrong with a cute purse. Better yet, this will be the biggest discount we've ever seen on handbags from Sears. You'll be able to choose from brands like Rosetti, Laura Scott, Genna de Rossi, and more.

The Best Black Friday Home Ads

During last year's Black Friday sales, 35% of all the home and garden deals we listed were marked Editors' Choice. In our perusal of the 2013 Black Friday home ads, we've already come across a bevy of super price drops on appliances and kitchenware.

  • Dyson DC35 Digital Slim Multi Floor Cordless Bagless Vacuum Cleaner for $199 at Target
The last time we saw a non-refurb deal on this model was in June; it was $263. In fact, outside of refurbs, we just don't see that many deals on this model at all. Since it's $64 under our last mention, we're calling this one a true doorbuster. (Best Buy will have it for a buck more.)

  • Kenmore 3.4-Cu. Ft. Top-Load Washer with 6.5-Cu. Ft. Dryer for $499.98 at Kmart
This pair of laundry appliances may be as barebones as they come, but at this price, who cares? This is far and away the cheapest Kenmore washer and dryer set we've ever seen. (The previous price low cost $50 more in May 2012.)

  • Keurig K45 Elite Brewer with $25 off Coupon for $99.99 at Meijer
This Thursday-only doorbuster will make coffee-lovers rejoice: For just $100, you'll get the Keurig Elite Brewer and a coupon for $25 off your next Meijer purchase between December 1 and December 24. Assuming you'll use the coupon, that beats the lowest price we've ever seen for this brewer by $9. What's more, it also beats the Black Friday prices for this brewer at JCPenney, Kmart, and Macy's.

  • Rubbermaid 30-Piece Easy Find Lids Food Storage Set for $6.92 at Walmart
If you're going to be doing your Black Friday shopping on Thanksgiving, you might as well pick up a cheap set of food storage containers to stow away those leftovers. This is the best price we've seen for any size set of Rubbermaid containers since last Black Friday, when Walmart offered a 28-piece set for the same price. (Similar 30-piece sets go for $48 or more elsewhere.)

  • Crock-Pot 4-Quart Slow Cooker for $7.99 at Kohl's
Although you'll have to redeem a rebate to get the discount, this Crock-Pot is a serious steal. In fact, it isn't just the lowest price we've seen for a 4-quart Crock-Pot; it's the lowest price we've seen for any Crock-Pot. Furthermore, Kohl's price on this Crock-Pot beats the Black Friday prices of similar 4-quart slow cookers being offered by Sears, Kmart, and Stein Mart.

The Best Black Friday Hardware & Tool Ads

While many shoppers associate Black Friday with consumer electronics, the holiday is also one of the best time to buy tools, home appliances, and other hardware. Whether you're shopping for a diehard do-it-yourselfer or just need to make a few home repairs of your own, take a gander through our breakdown of the best Black Friday tool ads.

  • Drill Master 18V 3/8" Cordless Drill Driver & Flashlight for $19 at Harbor Freight Tools
This cordless drill and flashlight kit is easily the cheapest combo of its kind we've seen all year. Similar kits have cost as much as $50 throughout the year, making this one a steal.

  • U.S. General Pro 700-lb. 5-Drawer Tool Cart for $160 at Harbor Freight Tools
What good is a garage full of tools without somewhere to store them? This 700-lb. capacity cart will break some price records when it's discounted to $160; similar 5-drawer carts have sold for up to $50 more. However, if you don't need your tool chest to hold that much weight, Kmart will offer a Craftsman Evolv 5-drawer tool center with a 400-lb. capacity for only $75.

  • DeWalt 80-Piece Drilling/Driving Set with Bag for $20 at Lowe's
This DeWalt 80-piece drilling/driving set beats our Editors' Choice mention of a similar set from mid-October by $5. It's also the cheapest 80-piece set of this kind we've seen.

  • 7.5-Foot 40,000-BTU Patio Heater with Adjustable Table for $80 at Ace Hardware
Though it throws out slightly fewer BTUs, this patio heater beats out similar offerings from Lowe's and Walmart by a comfortable $8. Plus, it's the cheapest 40,000-BTU heater we've seen to date.

  • HDX 71-Piece Screwdriver Set for $9.88 at Home Depot
This impressive 71-piece kit costs just $0.014 per tool. That's certainly an incredible Black Friday price, but it's also the best price we've ever seen for any similarly sized screwdriver set.

  • Dremel 200 Series 2-Speed Rotary Tool Kit with 15-Piece Accessory Kit for $29.97 at Home Depot
Sure to be the best Black Friday Dremel offer this year, the price for this kit also beats the current low by $15. On top of that, we just saw one of these kits for $40 earlier this month. Better yet, this Black Friday mention ties a September deal as the lowest price we've seen for any Dremel kit.

There you have it, folks: our final picks for the best Black Friday ads. All that's left now is to see if the stores will live up to these prices during the shopping holiday. Last year we saw several stores beat their own advertised prices, so set up those email alerts now. Also, be sure to keep checking our Black Friday deals page for all the latest news, ads, and predictions.

I noticed that there really aren't that many good deals on Black Friday, but i also noticed that this website (dealnews) keeps you ahead of the buying curve by actually shopping like its Black Friday everyday. Forget Black Friday, just keep coming back to this website and you will see much better deals then on these commercialized days!
Greg the Gruesome

I guess I should've written pixel density, not resolution.

It depends on the actual model. Recently, DealNews posted a deal for a Samsung 22" 1080p HDTV at Amazon and one other etailer. One of the most helpful reviews on Amazon included instructions for adjusting the set's settings to optimize it for use as a PC gaming monitor.
I had issues with a 24 in TV that could only do 800x600 hooked up to a PC , TVs arent really great as a main monitor. Most can't do higher resolution.
In cell phone deals. Maybe bias by me or you?? How you skipped the walmart Moto X for $49 and getting a $100 gift card on phone that now runs circles around the S4! And even became the second phone after the Nexus, to run KitKat 4.4 official update (S4 still on Jellybean 4.3).

A better phone and more money in my pocket! Guess nobody wants that? :D
Greg the Gruesome

Don't you think that the resolution of a 32" 720p display isn't high enough to make it a good PC/Mac monitor?
I need that 32" TV from amazon to be my new monitor!!!!!!
Already ordered a new 55" Samsung 3D LED tv at almost $250 under normal price. Might get a bit cheaper next spring but tired of staring at a black box on the wall for a month:)
